Quickly and safely remove broken taps, drills, screws, and studs without damaging workpiece threads.

The MRCM MR-500B is an industrial-grade portable electrical discharge machine (EDM) designed for machine shops, mold makers, and manufacturing facilities. Using electrical spark erosion technology, it disintegrates broken hardened tooling from workpieces of any size or shape. It uses ordinary tap water as the dielectric liquid, making operation safe, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly.

How to Use

Mount the workhead onto the workpiece using the magnetic base and align the electrode with the broken tap's center.
Connect the water tube to flush tap water over the erosion point.
Choose an electrode diameter approximately half of the broken tap's core diameter (e.g., Ø2mm electrode for an M4 tap).
Turn on the power, high frequency, and water pump, then engage the servo feed.
Once the center web is eroded away, extract the remaining tap teeth effortlessly with a needle or pick.
